Joanie's Vegetable Soup
7 cups water
1 can (1 pound, 12 ounce) Progresso crushed tomatoes with added puree
4 chicken bouillon cubes
1 cup each of chopped onion, diced raw potatoes and thinly sliced carrots
1 pkg. (10 ounce) each frozen peas, lima beans, corn
1 Bay Leaf
1/2 tsp. sweet basil leaves
1/4 tsp. dill seed or weed
1/4 tsp. pepper
Optional: cooked chicken cubes or ground beef
Combine all ingredients in a large heavy soup pot. Over medium heat, bring
mixture to boil; reduce heat and simmer about 1 hour or until vegetables are
tender.
NOTE: For less preparation time, you can use 1 1/2 to 2 (24 ounce) packages
of frozen vegetables
