Donna's Cabbage Rolls
1 head of green cabbage
2 cans of Cambells Tomato Soup (dilute with 1/2 can water for each can)
1 to 1-1/2 lb. of ground turkey or hamburger meat
2 cups of long grain rice (uncooked)
1 cut up onion (optional)
Salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste.
Place cabbage in water, and cook very slowly until just soft enough (but not too soft) to peel leaves off.
Mix together, uncooked meat, rice, and onion.
When cabbage is done enough to remove leaves, do so under cool running water. *You absolutely DO NOT want to cook to long and get it mushy).
In a casserole dish, take each cabbage leaf and stuff with mixture and roll up as if it were a tortilla.
Do all the cabbage leaves this way, until you have stuffed all of them with mixture.
Then take your soup and dilute enough to evenly cover the cabbage rolls.
Bake covered at 375 degree preheated oven for approximately 1 hour or so.
When it is almost finished baking, remove the foil, and continue to bake for an additional 15 minutes or so.
Let me know how your family likes this. My family really enjoys them. They are wonderful and very filling. The leftovers are even better the next day.
