How long did production of Under the Bridge take from inception?

It's been about 3 years SInce Cassidy and I read the book. It's a fast progression in theater terms I guess.

Can you tell us more about Under The Bridge?

I would encourage you all to read the book that I adapted for this musical. It's called, The Family Under the Bridge. It's the story of a Parisian hobo in 1953 whose life is transformed when he discovers three homeless children and a dog under what he considers his bridge.

I have them. Every member of our cast is a seasoned performer. I think they're enjoying it even more than I am!

I was wondering if you have any plans to do any specials on television in the future. I surely do miss you on your show. I enjoyed your Gentle Grace concert so much and it really spoke to my heart.

No, one of the reasons I'm spending so much time writing musicals is because they last forever. The older I get the more I realize how important a legacy is -- not just for your own children but for the world that we'll all one day leave.

I'm always mindful of our shared Jewish holidays. But we are not a family that thinks in religious terms but spiritual terms.

That's going to depend on how well the play is going. Hopefully we'll be able to get away for a few days as a family.

The main cast includes three brilliant Broadway veterans mostly from Les Miserables and Evita. Ed Dixon plays Armand, Flo Lacey plays his gypsy friend Mireli and Jacqui Piro plays Madame Calcet , the mother of the 3 homeless children
