Visit www.ovarian.org for more information on the South Carolina division of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC-SC)

NOCC-SC's division President, Mandy Flanders, and Vice-President, Karen T. Harden, started the South Carolina Division due to the fact that Mandy lost her mother to ovarian cancer in 1988, at the age of 55, and Mandy and Karen lost their closest friend, Anita Kelly to the disease at age 40.  They no longer wanted to sit idly by and watch as other women faced this cancer without the tools they needed for diagnosis and treatment.

Upcoming events are posted on the NOCC website, www.ovarian.org. Just by clicking on the South Carolina link, anyone can learn ways that they can be a part of their organization.  They are dedicated to bringing awareness and education to the public about ovarian cancer.  It is often referred to as the disease that "whispers" but with hundreds of volunteers working across the country, the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition is changing the whisper to a "shout."

NOCC-SC has just received its first proclamation from the Governor of South Carolina, declaring September as Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.  September is also recognized, nationally, as Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.

They also welcome contributions to NOCC-SC and are a charitable organization, recognized by the IRS, under the 501(c)3 tax code.  All contributions are tax deductible.
