Mission

The "I Have a Dream"® Program helps children from low-income areas reach their education and career goals by providing a long-term program of mentoring, tutoring, and enrichment with an assured opportunity for higher education.

About the "I Have a Dream" Foundation

The “I Have a Dream”® Foundation leads a national network of 77 “I Have a Dream”® Projects in 20 states that serve students in low-income communities, helping them overcome the statistical odds against their earning a high school diploma and going to college.

Each “I Have a Dream”® Project provides the students they serve with a comprehensive, long-term program of mentoring, tutoring, counseling, and enrichment that encourages each child to stay in school, gain academic skills, and aspire to higher education and the career of their choice. Additionally, each “I Have a Dream”® Project provides financial assistance for college or vocational school to every student in their program who graduates from high school or obtains a GED.

The Foundation’s national headquarters provides technical assistance, resources and support to local “I Have a Dream”® staff and Sponsors and assists them in delivering effective programs. The Foundation also plays a key role in opening new “I Have a Dream”® Projects in communities across the country.
