Child Care at Hilltop Neighborhood House in an attempt to mirror the diverse population of the United States, Hilltop Neighborhood House brings together people from different economic, ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds. Some children we serve are from families that need assistance with the childcare costs; some families quality for State subsidies (CCDF funding); others receive scholarships from Hilltop resources raised for that purpose.
Services provided:
- Child care for infants through children age 5;
- Preschool enrichment sessions for ages 3-5
- Activities for school-age children including:
* 4-H
* recreational days
* art club
* girls club (United Sistas)
The Hilltop Child Care staff attempts to help families work toward meeting the physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs of their children. Staff seeks to assist and support families in their task of helping their children grow into healthy and productive adults.
Hilltop provides child care and preschool for families who live or work in its general neighborhood as well as for others throughout Porter County. It offers child care from 6:30AM until 6:30PM, Monday through Friday. Preschool enrichment sessions for ages 3-5 are offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30-12:30. (Earlier arrival times can be arranged.)
Hilltop is committed to offering quality services at a cost that is affordable for each family. In the case of families that cannot afford market rates, Hilltop will make every effort to find resources through State vouchers or its own scholarship program. No child is ever turned away because of a lack of financial resources. The Director of the Child Care will discuss fees with interested applicants.
There is ordinarily a waiting list for children of all ages. Early planning is encouraged. For information and registration packet, please call 219-462-7173. |
