The Dream Center is a complete ministry outreach center located in the heart of Los Angeles. Formerly, the old Queen of Angels Hospital, the 9 building complex located in the Rampart area of downtown Los Angeles houses over 600 people and 200 programs servicing the needs of the inner-city. Half of the people living in the Dream Center are volunteers from all over the world serving in Los Angeles, and the other half have been brought in from drug-addiction, prostitution, homelessness, gangs, alcoholism, troubled teenagers, and many other destructive lifestyles to be rehabilitated and brought back into a healthy lifestyle. "I support this organization (The Dream Center) because it has been a positive force in the community. Indeed, as a result of this organization's work. The homicide rate in the Rampart area of Los Angeles has decreased by 73%, prostitution and gang activities have decreased, and social and economic revitalization is very visible in their community."
Richard Riordan
Former Mayor
City of Los Angeles
Programs:
Dream Center Discipleship houses over 200 men and women brought in from various destructive lifestyles for the purpose of rehabilitation and re-instilling hope and the life skills needed to live a healthy and beneficial life.
Dream Center Teen Discipleship houses close to 50 teenagers whose parents have lost control of through drugs, gangs, crime, alcoholism, prostitution, and many other dangerous lifestyles. It is a state licensed program to help teenagers get back on track.
The Food Truck started to assist the many families living beneath the poverty line in Los Angeles with the much needed groceries to survive. With high-quality food, the truck targets single mother families and feeds close to 25,000 people every week.
Vocational Job Training provides classes free of charge for close to 200 people in computer certification, fork-lift certification, food handling licenses, CDL bus driver licenses, and GED courses with job placement upon graduation.
Mobile Medical Truck is a hospital on wheels offering service to the many people in Los Angeles without medical insurance. The truck can do most anything a local family doctor can do and does follow up care and provides the medications its patient are unable to afford.
Hope For Homeless program that targets runaways and teenage prostitutes in Hollywood. The team departs the Dream Center around midnight and is out on the streets throughout the night rescuing kids kidnapped into prostitution or out on the streets.
Metro Kids is a side-walk Sunday School program bringing a message of hope and life to over 9,000 children throughout the Los Angeles area. Our philosophy is, "It is easier to make a child, than to repair an adult." We have teams that bring lessons ranging from Bible teachings to self-esteem and personal hygiene.
