Introduction
Children of Promise Stable (COPS) is a small program associated with the St. Agatha Hospital division of the New York Foundling Hospital.
The COPS barn is located on the grounds of St. Agatha Home in Nanuet, NY. This residential therapeutic equestrian program enables 147 youths with special needs the opportunity to make positive changes in their lives. Their agenda is designed to also benefit persons with disabilities living in the community. This special program was realized following a three-year collaborative effort that involved St. Agatha Home, the Clarkstown Police Department and members of the greater Rockland County community.
Proceeds donated to this program will go towards building an accessible ramp for riders in wheelchairs, purchasing a small tractor for the barn needs, helping to cover operating expenses, and the long term goal of building an indoor arena to be named in honor of Thomas Foley, who was lost in the World Trade Center attacks.
They are a not-for-profit organization that relies on donations and private gifts to keep this beneficial program alive. One hundred percent (100%) of all donations go directly to the program.
