OUR PATIENTS
Angel Flight is available to patients and families of patients whose financial resources do not permit them to travel by commercial airlines to get needed diagnosis or treatment. Angel Flight also accepts requests from patients and families who are unable to use public transportation because of their medical condition or who live in remote areas where public transportation is not available, as well as those with immediate needs. Patients must be medically stable and ambulatory. Flights will be provided as often as necessary. Emergency flights are reserved for persons who need to visit critically ill or injured family members, patients needing organ transplants and organ donations.
OUR PILOTS
Angel Flight pilots are dedicated volunteers who donate their time, flying skills, fuel and planes to help others. All are licensed by the FAA and come from all walks of life and share a common concern for their fellow citizens, especially those burdened by serious life threatening healthcare problems.
MISSIONS
Angel Flight accepts requests for flights from anyone who needs our help and these requests can come through families, friends, major medical centers, hospitals, social service agencies, hospice groups, March of Dimes, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, and Visiting Nurse Associations.
OUR PLANES
Angel Flight pilots own or rent their airplanes. The aircraft range from single engine, four-seater to twin-engine, pressurized cabin class aircraft. All aircraft comply with FAA regulations
FUNDING
The pilot flying the mission pays all of the flight expenses for a mission. Additional funding is also received from generous corporate sponsors, organizations, charitable gift giving, community service groups, churches and individual contributors.
