WISH LIST 2004

Anne Arundel County CASA, Inc. is currently seeking the following to help reach the 230 children who are in foster care in our community this year.

•Complete Phone System
CASA needs a digital telephone and voicemail system that will allow for the transferring of calls to voicemail and automated phone answering in order to optimize staff time. Our current phones are no longer available so we cannot expand our current configuration

•Adobe Creative Suite
CASA is in need of updated software for desktop publishing of our newsletter, event programs, etc. This suite will enable us to edit grant applications that are often only available for download in PDF form.

•PowerPoint Projector
CASA needs a PowerPoint projector to use during our training of new CASA volunteers.

•Brandy’s Fund (All Levels of Giving Are Helpful)
CASAs advocate for a child’s unmet needs, such as therapy, a trip to camp or a bike to ride. Although the child welfare system is usually able to meet the needs of children and families, it sometimes falls short. For those instances, Brandy’s fund, named after the first child whose CASA realized that the system couldn’t provide for her child’s needs, was created as a safety net to pay for those unmet needs. This fund makes it possible for CASAs to ensure that a child’s needs will not be neglected.

•Microsoft Office 2003
CASA is in need of Microsoft Office 2003 for our 6 computers so that they all run on the same software.

•Printers
CASA is currently in need of 4 office printers that are HP/Windows XP compatible. We are operating with two printers for 6 computers.

•Microsoft Publisher
CASA is updating our computer network with pre-owned equipment and upgrading to a newer version of Windows. Our current web publishing software is not compatible with this system

•Sponsor a Child
Sponsor an abused child’s successful journey through the foster care system with a CASA Volunteer’s advocacy.
